Ooma is the punk kid in the center of the room filled with classical VoIP providers – they do things their way, and we definitely like it!

By Aleksandar Spasov | 19th November 2018

Ooma is not our typical VoIP service provider as they implement unique features in their kit, offer a mind-blowing amount of international minutes to the deal, and an array of business solutions to our company. The brand requires a one-time hardware purchase, with a monthly fee serving all subscription packages – toll-free numbers, fax extensions, and conference tools are all up for grabs here!

Features

Ooma has done a good job in spreading their field of expertise to almost all land-lines and hardware device. Their communication service features ease the process of getting in touch with your employees, help in organizing the business, and add an overall level of confidence that we are doing the right thing. And we are doing it well!

The Fellowship of the Ring Groups

Okay, we know that Lord of the Rings is kind of a long-stretch but we couldn’t help writing it. The Ring Groups enable speed dialing multiple numbers in our contact list while using just one set of digits. Just assign a number-combination to the desired group of people and call them easily with a simple click. No need to search for each individual separately as they are all ready to assist you in any adventure!

Number Porting

Getting our general contact list to a new VoIP provider’s platform is simply done by using the VoIPLy account of Ooma. While the process itself may take up to a month (in the worst case scenario), it lets customers reach enhanced VoIP levels with all of their valuable connections set in one place.

Caller ID for the Experts

An enhanced caller ID function is available to us, too – even an unknown number becomes a name or a face with Ooma’s database search. Finding out who is calling you without having their contact saved in any device feels like some psychic scheme but it is just a neat feature to add to our business.

3-Way Conference

Without the need of much explaining, the three-way feature gets any needed party in our one-on-one calls in no time. It is efficient, one-click away of reach, and it certainly competes with the best conferencing tools in the industry.

Block that One

We all have numbers we could decide to block at a certain point in our business journey. Protecting one’s company from outside interference, the Call Blocking option stops all intruders before they can even try getting to us. Why bother with annoying calls when you can forget about them with one single feature?

Other notable features of Ooma are Enhanced Call-Waiting, Instant Second Line, Virtual Receptionist, Voicemail Monitoring, Call Transfers, Call Logs, Virtual Fax, Conference Bridge, Music on Hold, Business-After-Hours Mode, and more. Get to know them on your own by visiting their website for the full list of possible additions to your communication services package!

Ooma Office

While Ooma offers variations of its famous Office Package, it is the core of the VoIP brand. The subscription includes hardware costs and comes at a $19,95 per user on a monthly basis. There isn’t anything more to pay as the package has a complete-feature cost. Of course, we can add extra options to it but this is reserved for the pickiest business owners while most businesses will be delighted to explore the traditional Ooma Office.

The deal includes one toll-free number + 500 free minutes per month, along with a unique phone number for each number (and a virtual fax!). The hardware package gets us an Ooma Base Station + 2 Linx Devices. Other than that, the full Ooma service is available instantly to users, has more than enough to keep your communications going splendidly, and is one of the easiest to set up. Even by VoIP beginners!

Customer Support

The customer support at Ooma is beyond comparison. They are available 24/7 for all possible tech issues or communication problems. Both live chat and phone contact are in place – ordinary work hours and weekends form the time-frame of active Live Chat but we doubt you will be needing it at night. To further aid their customers, Ooma has a full-of-valuable-information webpage covering all aspects of the software. Last but not least, we have the FAQ page and Video Tutorials to show us how it’s done properly!

Conclusion

Going for it plainly, Ooma has an outstanding potential to become your business’ favorite VoIP provider. Their cost/benefit ratios are off the top, the many convenient features are always available and suited to your company’s needs – and this is achieved by their Basic Plan only. Premium Users may choose additional features from a pretty long list. And we doubt that there will be any key ingredient missing to turning your business into a power-machine!
