This meal delivery service company ensures that meals are sourced using fresh and local ingredients, and you can expect an average calorie count per meal – in other words, between 500 to 700 calories. One account is permitted per household, and you will be able to adjust settings such as delivery schedules, meal preferences and dinner kits on a weekly basis. Furthermore, there are options to select dietary requirements such as nut free, dairy free or gluten free.

How it works

Weekly dinner kits from Gobble include three meals that are designed for either two or four people. There are around two dozen recipes on the menu to choose from each week, and you can also opt for a weekly meal prep lunch subscription if you so desire.

The setup with dinner kit subscriptions is simple. Each week Gobble will deliver a box with ingredients and recipes for three meals on a day of your choice. You will either be able to prepare six or 12 meals in total depending on whether you want to cook for 2 or 4 people. It’s possible to adjust the number of meals at any point during your subscription. With meal prep lunch subscriptions, you will receive a lunch box with three kits every week. You will be able to cook six lunches in bulk over the weekend in order to easily pack them and take them out and about with you over the course of the following week.

The benefits of Gobble include the fact that produce from this service is sustainable, as the company works with local farmers to provide hand-selected ingredients for customers. What’s more, preparing for meals in advance is not necessary as only 10 to 15 minutes are required to prepare a meal. As all of the ingredients have been specially prepared by Gobble, all you have to do is follow the simple recipe. Then, in three steps, you’ll have a high quality meal ready to serve to friends and family.

Meal plans and recipes

When you sign up for a meal kit subscription with Gobble, you will be able to choose which protein you want in a meal – or you can select vegetarian meals. Those who eat meat will have options such as poultry, pork, beef, lamb, fish and shellfish. There are 24 meals to choose from each week, and they are divided into four categories depending on the protein. For example, you can choose From The Range if you want poultry, or From The Ranch if you want beef, pork or lamb. Similarly, From The Sea offers fish and seafood recipes, while From The Earth provides vegetarian options. There will always be meals which are low carb, dairy free, gluten free and child friendly. That being said, there are not menus which exclusively cater to these preferences, so if you’re not a meat eater or need to eat exclusively meals which allow for specific dietary needs, you may struggle to find enough options.

Delivery and packaging

When it started out, Gobble could only deliver to Idaho, Arizona, Oregon, Utah, California, Washington and Nevada. However, now the meal kits can be delivered throughout the contiguous US, although Alaska and Hawaii are not included. When you have chosen a delivery day, your meal kit will be delivered between 8am and 8pm on this date. Although your options for delivery day choices can depend on where you reside, they will generally be on offer for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Gobble makes a point of sectioning out ingredients in the packaging for ease of use. Furthermore, meat and seafood is packaged in a separate bag to the other ingredients, so there is no need to worry about potential contamination. Shipping costs $6.99 per delivery, and if something is wrong with your parcel, you’ll be able to contact Gobble within 7 days of its arrival to receive either a replacement or a credit which matches the amount of money you have spent.

In terms of pricing, Gobble dinner kits cost around $11.99 per serving. If you make the minimum order, which is 2 kits for 2 people, this base price will increase to $13.99 per serving. Depending on the ingredients you choose, lunch kits cost between $7.98 and $11.47 per serving. For the lunch kits, the veggie bases cost $5.99 per portion, but protein will cost between $1.99 and $3.99 depending on whether you’re going for a standard or a premium portion. For starches, pricing is between $0.99 and $1.49 a serving for standard and premium choices respectively. However, you can exclude starches if you want to reduce the cost of your meals.

If you are a consumer without too many specific dietary needs who wants a large range of meal options which can be created quickly and easily, Gobble may be the perfect choice for you. With extra care taken to source high quality ingredients and a comprehensive menu which includes 24 choices a week, there are plenty of top notch options. Shipping is relatively low compared to competitors on the market, and the recipes only require a few steps to complete. This meal kit delivery plan may be best suited for busy professional couples or hectic family lifestyles where quick meals will be a lifesaver during the week.
